Digipak Layout Draft - Nicole
Through following a 6 panel digipak center tray layout I have created three different digipak designs. To develop these layouts I considered the design conventions of singer-songwriter and folk EPs/albums and also used my previous digipak research as guides for these three different outcomes. Using our primary sourced pictures of our artist Melina and some shots which relate to scenes in the music video, each digipack contains a range of images.In each design the extra panel and back cover are designated areas for information placements i.e. track list, copyright information, UPC code and lyrics as I thought that there should be consistent features within each digipak layout rather than drastic differences. As a group we decided that black and white/ grayscale images would work best with our overall media product presentation. Overall as a group we have decided to take different elements from each digipak design to produce our first rough draft of the 6 panel digipak.
Front Covers-
No.1- This front cover is a close up shot of our artist which has been based on Gabrielle Aplin’s ‘Never Fade’ EP front cover.
No.2 - The second front cover design was inspired by Birdy’s ‘Breathe’ EP cover. It features a medium shot of our artist, which captures Melina in her surroundings.
No.3 - This front cover has been based on Rhye’s ‘Open’ EP which features a title and graphic background and therefore the third design only features the album’s title.
